The Challenge…

Over the next 6 weeks I’m setting myself a challenge to lose 10kg and get back to my optimal body weight, after piling on the pounds whilst on holiday!

I’ll be making some simple changes to my nutrition and physical activity regime to not only reduce my weight but to drop my body fat and increase my lean muscle too!

How did I gain the weight?

This summer I have gained over 12kg!

Thats nearly 2 stone in just 4 weeks, and it could have easily been more… 

Drinking beer was common, above by the 2.5 pint portion!

I started the year with 8 months of solid training, enduring so many physical fitness challenges and events, so decided to use my summer holiday and honeymoon as an opportunity to rest my body after the intense year that I’ve had. 

I basically said “No” to my will power whilst away, and allowed myself to eat and drink what I wanted, when I wanted, doing so at times even in excess! 

Staying in hotels I often opted for a bread and/or pastry-based breakfast most mornings, I’d eat meals out every day including a high consumption of processed (junk) foods and fast foods. I ate lots of cheese and dairy products, I drank alcohol in excess, drank coffee on most days and other than the occasional walk, my exercise regime was non-existent. 

In summary, my healthy lifestyle went out the window, I moved less and ate more.

What will my next 6 weeks look like?

I am going to be cleaning up my diet and upping my physical activity and you can join me or follow my journey.

My 6-week programme will consist of these 6 simple steps:

1.

A little planning and preparation 

2.

An initial nutrition detox

3.

Ensuring a daily calorie deficit (burning more than I consume)

4.

Doing at least 3 specific workouts per week that target fat loss

5.

Following good nutrition 80% of the time

6.

Enjoying the journey!

It’s really that simple!

What will I be eating?

I will be eating simple and quick to prepare, healthy meals. Mostly homemade but occasionally eating out. 

Each week you’ll find my personal meal planner uploaded to the FAR fitness Facebook page and I’ll be sure to post pics and vids regularly on my Facebook and Instagram social media pages too.

What exercise will I be doing?

Each week I’ll be doing a different personalised combination of my favourite and most effective fat burning workouts. Nothing fancy nor extremly high intensity, sometimes in the gym, sometimes with no equipment and some workouts being as short as only 2 minutes! 

Like my nutrition regime I’ll also upload my workout plan to the FAR fitness Facebook page and I’ll be sure to post pics and vids regularly on my Facebook and Instagram social media pages too.
